Square's Co-Founder: A Recession Is a Great Time to Start a Company

Warner Music Group Launches IPO 


WMG, owner of labels like Atlantic, Warner Records, and Warner Music has officially kicked off its IPO, after being delayed due to COVID-19. The initial public offering price is expected to be between $23 and $26 per share, which would value the company at $13.3 billion. [More Here - Variety]
 

Kindness During The Pandemic 


Every Sunday, 16-year-old Jordan Mittler teaches a free technology class for senior citizens, which has taken on new importance during the pandemic. Mittler, who attends high school in New York City, started the in-person class while in middle school but has now transitioned online to help seniors stay connected using technology. Amazon's Local Podcast Play


From Axios this morning, Amazon is looking to jump back into podcasting, this time with localized sports and news content. The company is reportedly using the Alexa fund to invest in local content, which would differentiate itself from other major competitors in podcasting. [More Here - Axios

More People are Traveling


On April 14th, the TSA only screened 87,534 people in the US. In 2019, the same day saw 2.2 million screenings. While numbers are still way down, Memorial Day weekend saw a jump in travelers, with nearly 350,000 people being screened on May 22nd (2.7 million in 2019). While numbers aren't expected to go back to normal anytime soon, it is a sign of things going (somewhat) back to normal. [More Here - TSA]
 

2 in 5 Adults Have 'Changed For The Better' During Lockdown


A recent study of 2,000 British adults showed that 43% of respondents have "changed their ways for the better", including new habits and hobbies they've started during the lockdown. A previous study showed that 4 in 5 parents now say quarantine has brought the family closer. [More Here - Study Finds]
